NEIN is used as an answer:

A unique way to learn German

We wanted to challenge our brains to keep learning as adults. To our frustration, other materials lacked structure and introduced complicated grammar concepts too early. That made learning difficult. German Stories teaches grammar and vocabulary step by step without overwhelming you. This really helps anchor our memory. Around lesson 20, we were able to get the gist of a story before reading the translation. Now we listen to audiobooks, like Harry Potter in German. We still don’t understand everything, but we always get the gist of it!

The most robust one-stop-shop available!

Other apps and resources were incomplete, so I had to bounce between them. This got cumbersome, and I would also forget what I meant to look up midway through doing so. German Stories has all aspects of language learning centralized and nicely laid out on the page. When I did an assignment, I was amazed that I could actually originate German text on my own. I am only just starting but I am excited to get home every day to continue working effectively to learn German!

Much better than other sources

I couldn’t understand or speak German with my German friends and colleagues. The only options were to learn from textbooks or to use apps like Duolingo. But textbooks weren’t flexible enough and Duolingo was way too gamified. German Stories was the perfect middle ground. A few weeks after starting, I was traveling in the U-Bahn and for the first time, I was able to understand a German conversation. Now I can speak in basic German with friends and pick up more along the way.

Learn German way faster than you expect!

I knew some grammar and vocabulary, but I couldn’t use German in real conversations. I felt stuck and unable to apply what I learned. German Stories helped me improve without me realizing. The story kept me hooked, and I never felt lost. After a few months, I joined my first 1:1 session with Chris. Without prior speaking practice, I held a 30-minute conversation entirely in German. Now I have a solid path to German proficiency, and I’m confident I can reach my goal of B2 German quickly.

Fun to learn

I had no structured learning before I found German Stories. I was stuck in the same place with no progress. With German Stories, learning has become fun because it’s interesting to read and hear stories. I realized on one of my travels that I was actually getting better in small steps. I wasn’t improving before. But now it feels like I’m finally moving forward.

Very good podcast

I needed comprehensible and simple texts to learn German, with words to memorize step by step. While reading or listening to audio in German, I had to stop to look for the meaning of the words basically 95% of the time. German Stories is the only website that has quick translations so I can easily memorize the words. Now I can study German with less frustration and I can repeat the texts easily.

Finally some progress!

I had no idea how German grammar worked. I tried to continue studying, hoping to later figure it out by myself. But this made my learning German only take longer.
Then I found German Stories. It explains the grammar rules from the beginning. Since I know many words by now, it becomes easier for me to form sentences with the correct structure.
It has become encouraging to continue with German stories now that I see I am progressing after a long stalemate.

Fun & learning

I was having trouble finding a learning experience where everything fits together. That was annoying and it slowed me down.

But German Stories has great stories & explanations, and a good system for reviewing words. I realized this method is working while I was listening to the stories & explanations. I enjoy having more confidence in my learning ability now.

Much better than Duolingo

I was having trouble progressing with German and was frustrated. Then I found German Stories. It’s fun and the private classes I had with Chris were excellent. Somewhere in the storyline I went back to an episode that I had listened to prior. And this time the words all sank in. I understand so much with repetition and the story makes that possible and enjoyable. I’m on track and this is much better for me than say Duolingo or others. Much better.
