Sometimes we replace an article with it’s corresponding pronoun:
Der Computer?
Er ist hier. (der → er)
The computer?
„He“ (it) is here.
Die Fahrkarte?
Sie kostet viel. (die → sie)
The ticket?
„She“ (it) costs a lot.
Hier ist das Foto.
Tim braucht es. (das → es)
Here is the photo.
Tim needs it.
Observe how the last letters of the substitute pronouns are the same as in the articles. Also their genders (masculine, feminime, neuter) match.
This is the last time you’re riding with training wheels. In the next writing exercise (in lesson 10), they will be taken off!
Forgetting punctuation marks (,.!?) and confusing upper and lower case will then result in points being deducted!
